The multi-unit home suffered extensive damage but fast work kept the fire from spreading.

Emergency crews will be on scene of the structure fire in the 60 block of Esson Rd in Dartmouth for some time.
Although it appears that the fire is out, crews will be continuing overhaul and hitting hot spots.
