RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment responds to fatal residential fire
RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment responded to a fatal residential fire in East Chezzetcook.
On July 14, at approximately 7:30 a.m., RCMP officers and Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency (HRFE) responded to a report of a structure fire in the 1600 block of East Chezzetcook Rd.
Once HRFE extinguished the fire, which was contained to the home, the remains of a 59-year-old man were located inside.
The investigation is ongoing together with HRFE and the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service.
-Police seeking information about shots fired in North Preston
The RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division is seeking information in relation to shots fired in North Preston.
On July 13, at approximately 7:50 p.m., RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment responded to a report of shots fired from a white SUV near the intersection of Cain St. and Clarence St.
There were no reports of injuries.
The investigation, which is being led by the General Investigative Section of the RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division, with assistance from the RCMP Forensic Identification Section, is ongoing.
