**** New Glasgow Police Release New Glasgow Police arrest a Pictou County for Arson and Uttering Threats On the evening of September 16, 2026, members of the New Glasgow Police and the New Glasgow Fire Department responded to a series of arsons involving several businesses along East River Road, as well as a reported threat directed toward Aberdeen Hospital. A preliminary investigation has determined that there were no injuries and that there is no ongoing threats to public safety. New Glasgow Police have arrested a 30-year-old male from Pictou County, who has been arrested and will be charged with arson(s) and uttering threats. The investigation remains ongoing.
