**** RCMP Release Meteghan RCMP charges man for criminal harassment Meteghan RCMP has charged a man for criminal harassment following a complaint of unwanted contact. On September 11, at approximately 3:15 p.m., the Meteghan RCMP Detachment received a complaint of repeated unwanted contact. Investigators learned a man contacted a woman by attending places, including her workplace, numerous times over a three-month period. At approximately 9 p.m., officers located and arrested Eric David Thibault, 67, of Church Point. He has been charged with Criminal Harassment (two counts) and Failure to Comply with Order. Thibault has been remanded into custody pending a court appearance on September 17 in Digby Provincial Court. -

RCMP investigating arson in East Preston, requesting public assistance

RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment is seeking information from the public as officers investigate an arson in East Preston.

On September 12, at approximately 9:10 p.m., RCMP and fire services responded to a report of a structure fire in the 0-100 block of Upper Partridge River Rd. Upon arrival, the home was fully engulfed in flames. Officers learned the residence was unoccupied and did not have power.

The fire has been deemed suspicious, and the investigation is ongoing.
