**** Via Halifax Professional Firefighters Lake Echo Wildfire Final Update The incident has been declared under control. Crews will remain on scene for an extended period completing extinguishment and monitoring for hotspots. This will be our final update on this incident. - Lake Echo Wildfire Update #2 There has been strong progress on both the left and right flanks of the fire. At this time, there are no evacuations in place and no concerns for structures. The situation remains active, and fire fighters continue to work the area. Please continue to avoid the vicinity to allow operations to proceed safely. - Lake Echo Wilfire Update #1 Our members are currently operating from the end of Jenking Blvd, where multiple wildfires are burning and spotting through the treetops. Nova Scotia DNR is en route with air support, and additional HRFE resources are being deployed to assist on scene. Please avoid the area to allow crews and air operations to work safely and effectively. - Active wildfire in the Lake Echo area Crews are currently on scene working to contain the fire and protect surrounding properties and wooded areas. Residents are asked to avoid the area and give first responders the space they need to work safely and effectively.
