At 7:46 p.m. last night, our members responded to a confirmed structure fire on Upper Partridge River Road in East Preston. Tanker 18 arrived to find heavy fire conditions in a non-hydrant area.
Our members quickly went to work, knocking down the bulk of the fire before being joined by neighbouring districts for an interior attack. Fire fighters were forced to withdraw after a second-floor collapse and transitioned to a defensive operation.
The building—an abandoned home—was a total loss, but there were no injuries, and the fire was contained to the structure of origin.
Crews remained on scene until close to midnight.
