Kings District RCMP arrest man for threats
Kings District RCMP, with support from the Nova Scotia RCMP Emergency Response Team and RCMP Police Dog Services, arrested one person in New Minas after he threatened people and barricaded himself in a residence.
On October 27 at approximately 1:25 p.m., officers learned that a man on Olympic Ave. had threatened employees from a property management company, causing them to leave the area. The man then went into a residence and refused to leave when police attended. He was armed with an edged weapon inside the home.
In consideration of public and police safety, members of the Nova Scotia RCMP Police Dog Services, Emergency Response Team, and the Crisis Negotiation Team attended. Out of an abundance of caution, officers requested that neighbours in the immediate area stay inside their homes to prevent accidental interference with police activity.
At approximately 4:30 p.m., the man exited his home and was arrested by police then assessed by EHS. He was later released by police pending a future court date and will face charges of Utter Threats.
Officers appreciated cooperation from the public during the incident as Olympic Ave. was closed to traffic.
- Martock man charged with child sexual abuse and exploitation material offences October 30, 2025, Martock, Nova Scotia… The RCMP's Provincial Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit has charged a man with child sexual abuse and exploitation materials offences. On October 23, the ICE Unit and RCMP Digital Forensic Services, assisted by West Hants RCMP’s General Investigation Section and Street Crime Enforcement Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence in Mountainside Park, Martock, and seized electronic evidence. Investigators were directed to the home after a social media application notified law enforcement that child sexual abuse and exploitation material had been transmitted through its service. As a result of the investigation, Adrian Charles Hebb, 43, of Martock, has been charged with: Possession of Child Pornography Transmission of Child Pornography Accessing Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material Distribution of Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material Hebb was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Kentville Provincial Court on January 20, 2026. In Nova Scotia, it’s mandatory for citizens to report suspected child sexual abuse and exploitation material; anyone who comes across it must report it to police. Failure to report could result in penalties similar to those for failure to report child abuse set out in the Child and Family Services Act.
