At 5:31 pm yesterday Halifax Professional Firefighters responded to a well-established fire in a home on Coleville Court in Beaver Bank

The initial 911 reports indicated that the deck was on fire. When crews arrived, they found heavy fire conditions rapidly spreading through lightweight construction.

Thanks to a strong and coordinated defensive attack, Halifax Professional Fire Fighters were able to limit the damage to the initial structure.

✅ The structure, while sustaining significant damage, was saved from complete destruction.
✅ Firefighters also prevented the blaze from spreading into neighbouring properties.
✅ Most importantly, they stopped the fire from extending into the nearby woods, which could have had much more serious consequences given th dry conditions.

Another example of why response times matter.
