Update: Deceased man identified
Antigonish District RCMP has identified the man who was located deceased in Aulds Cove on August 14.
The investigation is ongoing, with the assistance of the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service.

Antigonish County District RCMP is seeking the public’s help in identifying a deceased man.
On August 14, at approximately 8:55 p.m., Antigonish County District RCMP responded to reports of a man walking in the roadway on Hwy. 104 in Aulds Cove, which was impeding traffic.
When officers arrived at the scene and interacted with the man, he fled and jumped off a steep embankment into the ocean, disappearing from officers’ sight.
Officers contacted fire services and the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre for assistance in searching for the man. At approximately 11 p.m., RCMP officers in a boat from the Port Hawkesbury Detachment recovered the man’s remains from the water with the help of firefighters.
The man is described as being between 30 and 40 years old, approximately 6-foot-0, with short brown hair, blue-grey eyes, and a full beard. He also has several tattoos, including a sailboat with a grim reaper on his right forearm and a skull with a sword through it on his right tricep. He was wearing a dark gray Oakland A’s baseball cap.
