**** NS Gov Release There are multiple fires across the province -- this post will be updated throughout the day LONG LAKE WILDFIRE COMPLEX, Annapolis County The Long Lake wildfires complex grew overnight to an estimated 2063 hectares. No reports of damage to homes at this time. A few campers and trailers were lost. Air resources include four Northwest Territories planes and two contracted helicopters. On the ground are 77 Department of Natural Resources, 22 Ontario, and five PEI firefighters. Local firefighters are taking a much needed break, with ten on the scene this morning. Next update will be this afternoon. SIMONDS LAKE WILDFIRE, Digby County Simonds Lake fire is still out of control, estimated at 1.75 hectares. Ten Department of Natural Resources and 16 local firefighters are on the scene. Next update this evening.
