Police charge man with assault and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
On July 27 at approximately 1:40 p.m., officers responded to reports of a vehicle driving erratically throughout HRM. The vehicle was reported to have been involved in two hit and runs – one in Dartmouth and one in Halifax. The driver was also reported to have assaulted someone during one of the collisions.
At approximately 2:15 p.m., officers stopped the vehicle in the 3600 block of Joseph Howe Drive at which time the driver was arrested.
A 24-year-old-man is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court at a later date to face charges of assault, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and two counts of failure to stop after an accident.
The matter is still under investigation.
