EARLY MORNING FIRE – CHAIN LAKE
At 5:46 AM, 911 began receiving multiple calls reporting a fire behind a building supply store on Chain Lake Drive in Halifax, with 20–30 foot flames and heavy black smoke visible.
A full structure fire response was immediately dispatched, with Halifax Professional Firefighters from Knightsridge (Station 7), Bayers Road (Station 5), and other units from across the city responding.
Upon arrival crews:
• Established water supply
• Deployed multiple lines
• Knocked down the main fire
• And aggressively persued fire extention in the main building.
The source of the fire appears to have been a massive trash compactor at the rear of the property but is under investigation.
It was a busy day for A Platoon, who responded to multiple structure fires, medical emergencies, and rescues throughout HRM.
This is what full time professional fire fighters do— day in and day out — standing ready to protect our community.
