Quick Knockdown on E-Bike Fire in Halifax
At 08:43 this morning, Halifax Professional Fire Fighters responded to reports of a smoke smell and light haze inside a residence in Halifax
Crews quickly located an e-bike fire and had it knocked down by 08:57
Thanks to the fast response, the fire was prevented from spreading to the rest of the home, and no injuries were reported
This incident is another reminder of the growing risks associated with lithium battery fires. If you own e-bikes, scooters, or other rechargeable devices, please charge them safely, follow manufacturer guidelines, and avoid charging unattended
Great work by all involved to keep this from becoming a much more serious event
