**** Via Truro Police The large police presence on Cross St last evening was part of an ongoing investigation originating from the Halifax area. The Truro Police Service Criminal Investigation Division was asked to assist the Halifax Regional Police in locating a person of interest from a firearms investigation in HRM, who was believed to be in Truro. Our investigators assisted HRP in identifying the address the person of interest was staying at in Truro. An arrest warrant was executed at the address at approximately 9 pm last evening, with officers from our Patrol Section and Criminal Investigation Division assisting HRP. Six people were arrested at the scene and held at Truro Police Service cells; the person of interest was transported back to HRM by HRP. There were no injuries from this operation, and police had sufficient resources on scene to mitigate any risk to the greater public.
