Police seeking information on sexual assault in Cole Harbour

Police are seeking information in relation to a sexual assault that occurred in Cole Harbour.

On June 19, RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment responded to a report of a sexual assault that occurred on June 17 at approximately 9 p.m. on a trail between Poplar Dr. and Cranberry Cres. in Cole Harbour. Officers learned that a 44-year-old woman was walking on the trail when she was approached from behind assaulted and then sexually assaulted.

The victim, who fought off her attacker, suffered minor injuries.

The suspect is described as a man, 6-foot-0, approximately 230 pounds and has brown eyes. At the time of the incident, he had a goatee and was wearing a black hoodie with a white logo and a black ball cap.

The investigation, led by the Special Victims Section of the RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division, is ongoing.

Millbrook RCMP charge man with drug trafficking and firearms offences

Millbrook RCMP Detachment has charged a man with drug trafficking and firearms offences after executing a search warrant as part of an ongoing investigation.

On June 19, Millbrook RCMP Detachment, with the assistance of Colchester Country District RCMP and the Colchester County Street Crime Enforcement Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence on Siwk St. in Millbrook First Nation.

Officers safely arrested one man and seized a quantity of cocaine and drug paraphernalia, a loaded handgun, a shotgun, ammunition, sword, knife, and a quantity of cash.

Jaden Daniel Kennedy, 22, of Millbrook First Nation, has been charged with:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Failure to Comply with Undertaking (two counts)
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • Unauthorized Possession of Firearm (two counts)
  • Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Weapon with Ammunition
  • Careless Use of Firearm (two counts)
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose (two counts)

Kennedy appeared in Truro Provincial Court on June 20 and was remanded into custody. He is scheduled to next appear on June 23.
