Gas leak recap via Halifax Professional Firefighters
At 9:54 AM, #hfxfirefighters responded to a natural gas leak on Primrose Street in Dartmouth after a line was ruptured.
Our hazardous materials team from Station 5 and Station 12 isolated the area, evacuated nearby residences, and controlled ignition sources while the gas company worked to clamp the line and stop the leak.
Air monitoring and safety assessments continued throughout the incident, with evacuation zones adjusted as needed.
This marks the second natural gas leak in just four days—another reminder of how quickly things can change, and why our members train for anything.
