Our Wilderness Rescue Team responded and located the pair approximately 2 km from the nearest roadway. They were well prepared with supplies and safety gear, and with the assistance of our team members, they were able to hike out. By 1400, everyone was clear of the woods and on their way home.
We commend these individuals for being well prepared and, once they encountered trouble, for calling 911 and staying put.

Today at 1200, HSAR were called by HRFE to assist in rescuing a man and a child who were stranded along a waterway in the Williamswood area after their canoe capsized and was damaged.
