On Saturday August 14, 2021, at 8:51 a.m. New Glasgow Regional Police has charged a 30-year-old male from Pictou County in relation to an armed robbery in Trenton on August 12, 2021. At 11:50 p.m. on August 12, 2021, New Glasgow Regional Police responded to a complaint of an armed robbery at a Needs Convenience Store on Main St. in Trenton. The man had entered the store with a knife, demanded cash and then immediately exited the store after a brief verbal altercation with the employee. The male suspect left the store on foot. No one was physically injured. The 30-year-old-male from Pictou County was charged with: Robbery Possession of a Weapon He has been remanded into custody and will be appearing in Provincial Court in Pictou on Monday August 16, 2021, at 9:30 a.m.
