On May 20, Halifax District RCMP conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that led to two people being arrested and the seizure of a weapon and drugs.

On May 20, police stopped a vehicle on Main Rd in Eastern Passage. The male driver refused to identify himself and was arrested for obstruction. During his arrest, a prohibited weapon (baton) was located in the vehicle near his feet. Once his identity was known, police determined that the man’s licence had previously been revoked.

The 29-year-old Halifax man was later released and is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on July 14 for the charge of Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and he was issued a ticket for Driving while Revoked under the Nova Scotia Motor Vehicle Act.

The 32-year-old Dartmouth woman was later released and she is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on July 13 to face charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.
