Police investigate robbery
On August 28 at approximately 6:35 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery that occurred at Sobeys, located at 955 Bedford Highway in Bedford. It was reported that a man entered the store, approached multiple cashiers, threatened them with a handgun and demanded money. The suspect then fled on foot with a quantity of money. Officers searched the area for the suspect but did not locate him. There were no reported physical injuries.
The suspect is described as a white man, medium build, wearing a grey zip up hoodie, dark pants, blue sneakers with white soles, a black mask and black sunglasses.
The investigation is ongoing.

Police charge man for multiple robberies
On August 29, police executed a warrant at a residence in the 3200 block of Isleville Street in Halifax. The investigation was in relation to multiple robberies with firearms that occurred in Central and West divisions. During these incidents, the suspect entered businesses wearing a motorcycle helmet, demanded money and threatened staff with a firearm. The suspect would then flee on a motorcycle. Investigators with the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division and members of the HRP Emergency Response Team arrested the suspect at the residence without incident.
William Young, 53, is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court today to face charges of:
- Robbery (x4)
- Disguise with intent (x4)
- Pointing a firearm (x4)
- Possess a weapon for dangerous purpose (x4)
- Carrying concealed weapon (x2)
- Possess firearm contrary to order/fail to surrender (x4)

Police charge man with indecent act
On August 29 at approximately 4:40 p.m., police received a report of an indecent act that occurred at McDonald’s, located at 393 Pleasant Street in Dartmouth. It was reported that a man in a convertible vehicle ordered food at the drive thru. When the man drove to the window to pay for his order, staff observed he was not wearing pants and his genitals were completely exposed. The man picked up his order at the next window and drove away. Officers located and arrested the suspect without incident at a residence in Eastern Passage.
A 53-year-old man is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth provincial court at a later date to face a charge of an indecent act.

Police investigate break and enter and assault
On August 29 at approximately 5 p.m., police responded to a report of a break and enter that occurred at a residence in the 6900 block of Bayers Road in Halifax. It was reported that while the resident was at home in his living room, three unknown youths entered through the patio door, assaulted the resident, and damaged their property. The suspects fled on foot but returned while the victim was calling 911 and sprayed him with a sensory irritant. The victim was treated on scene by EHS for non-life-threatening injuries.
One suspect is described as a white male, approximately 12 to 15-years-old, wearing a grey sweater and grey shorts. The second suspect is described as white male, approximately 12 to 15- years-old, wearing a black shirt, black shorts and black and white shoes. The third suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 12 to 15-years-old, wearing a grey sweater with “AVC” on the front, black shorts and black shoes.
The investigation is ongoing.

Police charge two youth with assault
On August 30 at approximately 7:10 p.m., police responded to a weapons incident that occurred at Walmart, located at 6990 Mumford Road in Halifax. It was reported that a youth was assaulted and threatened with a sensory irritant by two other, unknown youths. Officers located and arrested both youths without incident.
A 14-year-old male youth is scheduled to appear in Halifax youth court today to face charges of:
- Assault
- Assault with a weapon
- Uttering threats to cause bodily harm or death
- Carrying concealed weapon
- Possess weapon dangerous to public peace (x2)
- Failure to comply with condition of release order (x2)
A 16-year-old male youth is scheduled to appear in Halifax youth court today to face charges of:
- Assault with a weapon
- Possess weapon dangerous to public peace
- Failure to comply with condition of release order (x2)
