UPDATE: Investigation into fatal dog attack concludes
Shelburne RCMP has concluded its comprehensive investigation into a fatal dog attack in Welshtown.
The detailed investigation included the collection and analysis of video footage, numerous witness and neighbour interviews, and a review of the information obtained through the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service.
Upon assessment of the evidence collected during the eight-month investigation, there were insufficient grounds to lay charges.
"This remains a heartbreaking incident," says S/Sgt. Jeff LeBlanc, Shelburne RCMP. "Our thoughts are with the youth’s loved ones and everyone in the community who’s been affected by this loss.”
