In accordance with the Nova Scotia Release of High-Risk Offender Information Protocol, the New Glasgow Police are advising the public that a high-risk sex offender is within the New Glasgow area.
Matthew William Rozins is currently in believed to be in the New Glasgow and area and does not intend to stay.
He is not currently subject to court conditions prohibiting him from being in the area.
New Glasgow Police will continue to monitor Matthew William Rozins release and update the public on any further information when available.
Matthew William Rozins, 43 years of age, has been released into the community under supervision.
Matthew William Rozins is a sex offender and has a criminal history that includes offences in several provinces:
Rozins has been convicted of the following offences in the
Ontario area:
Sexual Assault
Trespassing at Night
Assault
Indecent Act
Criminal Harassment
Failure to Appear in Court
Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
Failure to Comply with a Probation Order
Rozins has also been convicted of the following offences in Nova Scotia:
Breach of Undertaking (1 count)
Breach of Release Order (2 counts)
Indecent Act
Failure to Comply with a Court Order
Rozins has also been charged with the following offences in Nova Scotia:

Public Mischief
Obstruction of a Police Officer
Rozins has also been charged with the following offences in New Brunswick:

As part of his release conditions, Rozins is subject to several restrictions, including:
He is prohibited from being in the presence of persons under the age of 16.
He must not attend public parks, public swimming areas, daycare centres, school grounds, playgrounds, community centres, or any location where persons under the age of 16 are present or can reasonably be expected to be present.
He must not seek, obtain, or continue employment, whether paid or volunteer, that would place him in a position of trust or authority with persons under the age of 16.
He must not have any contact or communication, by any means, with persons under the age of 16 unless the contact occurs under the supervision of a person approved by the court.
He is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition.
This information is being provided to alert members of the public to Rozinsโ presence in the community and to support public safety.
Recent Release
On August 20, 2026, Matthew William Rozins was released from the Northeast Nova Scotia Correctional Facility.
Matthew William Rozins is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court in September.
The New Glasgow Police strongly denounce any form of vigilantism or harassment directed toward this individual. Any actions taken by members of the public that threaten, intimidate, or interfere with this individual may constitute a criminal offence and will be investigated by police.
