Police charge three men with drug trafficking; multiple search warrants executed in Pictou County
The Pictou County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (PCISCEU) has charged three men with drug trafficking after executing six search warrants around Pictou County.
On May 26, Pictou County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit, along with teams from a variety of other RCMP units and police agencies, executed five search warrants as part of an ongoing investigation into property crime and drug offences. Locations consisted of two residences in New Glasgow, a business in Plymouth, a storage locker on Westville Rd. and a second storage locker in Abercrombie. As warrants were being executed, investigators learned about another associated storage locker and obtained a sixth search warrant.
As a result of all six search warrant executions, officers seized drugs (cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, various pills) and other items associated to drug trafficking, weapons including a handheld conducted energy weapon (“stun gun”), 40 cartons of unstamped tobacco products, and cash. Officers also recovered several stolen vehicles, including a Kubota skid steer loader, a dirt bike, and several trailers.
Two people were arrested as the search warrant executions were taking place. A third person was arrested at a later date.
Matthew Greencorn, 34, from New Glasgow, Travis Greencorn, 30, from New Glasgow, and Michael MacIntyre, 63, from New Glasgow, are each charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (methamphetamine). They are individually facing other charges related to property crimes, weapons offences, and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. All three men were released by police pending future court appearances.
In order to safely and efficiently conduct this operation, PISCEU as the lead team relied on collaboration with Colchester Community Action Team, Nova Scotia RCMP Police Dog Services, and Street Crime Enforcement Units (SCEU) from Cumberland County, East Hants, Pictou County, and Inverness County. Partnerships with Stellarton Police Department, Westville Police Service and New Glasgow Police were also an integral part of the investigation and search warrant executions.
“During operations like this, we always keep in mind the large- and small-scale impact of our investigations,” says Cpl. Tony MacKinnon, PCISCEU. “Our overall goal is public safety for the community as a whole, especially when we’re seizing drugs, weapons, and other dangerous items. At the individual level, though, we hope that we can make someone’s day better when we return their stolen items.”

-Police charge two people after seizing drugs and guns
The Cumberland County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU) has charged two people following the execution of search warrants that led to the seizure of drugs and firearms.
On June 4, as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation, the Cumberland County Integrated SCEU searched a home in the 9800 block of Hwy. 2 in Southampton and a business in the 0-100 block of Memorial Cres. in Springhill.
Two people were safely arrested at the residence.
As a result of the searches, officers seized cocaine, psilocybin, unidentified pills, drug paraphernalia, and unstamped tobacco. Investigators also seized two loaded handguns, a rifle, ammunition, a conducted energy weapon, electronic devices, and a Toyota Tundra.
Anna Katherine Trask, 45, of Southampton, has been charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine).
Charles Daniel Martin, 44, of Southhampton, has been charged with:
- Traffic in a Schedule 1 Substance (cocaine)
- Possession for Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine)
- Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition (two counts)
- Possession of Firearm Knowing Possession is Unauthorized (three counts)
- Possession of Weapon or Device Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of Prohibited Weapon, Restricted Weapon, a Prohibited Device
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Unauthorized Possession of Firearm (three counts)
- Contravenes a Regulation to Store, Handle, Transport, Ship, Display Firearm (two counts)
- Careless Use of a Firearm (three counts)
- Breach of Release Order
Martin is associated to the Colchester chapter of the Bacchus Motorcycle Club (MC), a 1% outlaw motorcycle gang (OMG). The 1% term is reserved for the more dominant OMGs in a region and is used by club members to advertise their disregard for the law and society’s norms. Within a 2018 Nova Scotia Supreme Court decision, Bacchus MC was designated a criminal organization under the Criminal Code of Canada, the first such designation for an OMG in Nova Scotia.
Martin was released by the court on conditions. He’s scheduled to appear in Amherst Provincial Court on July 20. Trask was also released on conditions and is due in court on July 13.
The investigation is ongoing.
“When we seize drugs, we often find firearms as well,” says S/Sgt. Andrew Clarke, District Commander, Cumberland County District RCMP. “This pattern highlights the close connection between drug activity and weapons, and the risks this combination poses to our communities.”
The Cumberland County Integrated SCEU was assisted by the Nova Scotia RCMP Emergency Response Team, Police Dog Services, the Pictou County Integrated SCEU, the East Hants District RCMP SCEU, Cumberland County District RCMP, and Criminal Intelligence Service Nova Scotia.

-Southwest Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit investigating suspicious death in Kings County
The Southwest Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit (MCU) is investigating a suspicious death in Greenfield.
On June 11, at approximately 3:50 a.m., Kings District RCMP responded to a report of a deceased man located outside a residence on Peck Meadow Rd.
The investigation is ongoing, led by Southwest Nova MCU. Investigators are working with the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service to determine the manner of death. Further information will be shared as available.
