Since January 1, 2026, HRP has seized 312 pellet guns, including long guns (rifles) and handguns
Today, Halifax Regional Police hosted a media availability to discuss the growing use of imitation firearms by youth, including BB guns and airsoft guns. Recently seized weapons that closely resemble real firearms were on display.

Charges from the incident at Mcdonalds on Peakview Way on May 26: (photos do not include replicas involved with MacDonald's incident)

A 15-year-old was charged with:

Uttering threats to cause bodily harm or death

Possess weapon for dangerous purpose/possess weapon dangerous to public peace

Carrying concealed weapon (x2)

Mischief

Failure to comply with undertaking
