Overnight Rescue – Dartmouth

**** Via Halifax Professional Firefighters Overnight Rescue – Dartmouth Overnight at 3:14 AM, #hfxfirefighters responded to reports of a structure fire at an apartment building on Lahey Road in Dartmouth. Our members from Station 12 (Highfield Park) arrived on scene within three minutes of the initial 911 call and were met with active fire conditions inside a three storey apartment building. Crews quickly initiated an aggressive interior fire attack and primary search of the affected unit. During this process, one person was rescued. Eight fire fighters were on scene within those first three minutes from Station 12 alone, allowing critical fire attack, search, rescue, and support operations to begin without delay during the most important moments of the incident. This incident is another reminder that response times matter. Having properly staffed fire stations with fire fighters ready to respond makes a difference when minutes — and lives — matter most.
