**** Via Halifax Professional Firefighters Structure Fire – Amesbury Gate, Bedford At 4:11 AM this morning, #hfxfirefighters responded to reports of a structure fire at a townhouse on Amesbury Gate in Bedford. Our members from Station 8 (Bedford) arrived to find a fire in the attached garage of a residence. Crews quickly advanced a hose line, conducted an interior attack, and brought the fire under control before it could extend further into the home. Smoke had entered the residence, requiring ventilation to clear hazardous conditions and improve conditions inside. Initial information indicates the fire may have involved an e-bike charger. The cause remains under investigation. This incident is a strong reminder: lithium-ion batteries and chargers can present a serious fire risk if damaged, improperly used, or left unattended. Earlier in the night, our members also responded to a separate commercial fire on Main Street in Dartmouth, where a small fire was quickly contained before extending further. Response times matter.
