New Glasgow Police Service has arrested a youth following an incident involving a replica firearm at a local business.
On April 12, 2026, police responded to a weapons complaint from an incident that occurred on the evening of April 11, 2026, at a business on George Street, New Glasgow. Information received indicated that a male youth had shown staff what appeared to be a handgun.
At approximately 3:00 p.m. on April 12, 2026, patrol officers located the youth at a local restaurant on East River Road and safely placed him under arrest. A search of the youth resulted in the seizure of a replica handgun. (NGPolice photo attached)
Investigators described the replica firearm as a BB Gun.
The youth has been charged with the following offences:
Two counts of Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public
Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
The investigation continues.
