HPFF - Weekly Incident Recap
The following is a summary of notable incidents #hfxfirefighters responded to last week, demonstrating coordinated response, rapid arrival times, and effective fireground operations:
• Ross Rd — Commercial Structure Fire (9:03pm, Feb. 1st) Our members from Station 18 (Westphal) arrived on scene during snowstorm conditions to heavy smoke showing at a warehouse following a fire alarm activation. Crews quickly located the fire, worked in low-visibility conditions, and brought the incident under control, preventing major damage to the building.
• Peggy’s Cove Rd — Residential Fire (8:49pm, Feb. 3rd) Our members from Station 65 (Tantallon) arrived first on scene to find fire compromising the roof of a two-storey home. Fire fighters knocked down the fire from the outside before safely moving inside to complete extinguishment.
• Herring Cove Rd — Garage Fire (6:46am, Feb. 8th) Our members from Station 6 (Spryfield) arrived and encountered a detached garage fire. Crews worked in challenging conditions to access and extinguish a stubborn fire hidden within the structure, while protecting nearby buildings.
