When we received this call for help for a herring gull stuck on a roof, we weren't expecting it to be quite so out of reach
He had somehow got his foot stuck between two pieces of the rain gutter, and must have been struggling to get free for a while because he looked exhausted.
We stopped by the nearby fire station (#7), and the captain was more than happy to help the gull out! They generously came by with a ladder truck and helped to free him.
We were also shocked to find out that this wasn't the first high-flying bird rescue that the captain has done for us. He was actually at the rescue of a gull who was impaled on a lightning rod on a church 20 years ago! And that church has also had more than one gull impaled on it - the second rescue many years later was even on our TV show.
