The mighty osprey begin their winter migration

Many nests are beginning to empty as the Nova Scotian official bird, the osprey, begin their winter migration.  Returning in the spring, these beautiful birds primarily feed on fish, making them true maritimes! "Ospreys leave Nova Scotia in the fall, generally in September, to migrate south for the winter, returning to their nesting grounds in the spring."
