RCMP arrests woman for impaired driving following single-vehicle crash

RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment arrested a woman for impaired driving following a single-vehicle crash in East Chezzetcook.

On October 25, at approximately 8:40 p.m., RCMP and EHS responded to a report of a Honda Civic in the ditch in a parking lot on Debras Way.  Officers learned a woman had asked for help getting her vehicle out and was suspected to be impaired.

Upon arrival, officers located a woman in the driver’s seat of the Honda calling a tow truck.  An officer spoke with the driver and observed signs of impairment.

The driver, a 44-year-old woman from Halifax, was arrested for impaired driving.  She was transported to the Cole Harbour RCMP Detachment where she provided two breath samples registering 220 mg% each.

The woman was released and is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date.
