Halifax Regional Police is expanding its Police Science Program to offer two classes in 2027. The expanded program will result in more police officers graduating and joining the organization in the coming year.
The first class is set to begin later this fall and will graduate in the summer of 2027. Recruitment for this class has concluded.
The second class will begin in the spring of 2027 and will graduate in the winter. Applications are now being accepted. Those interested in becoming a police officer can apply for the program until October 1, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. AST.
Successful applicants will become recruits in a 38-week police training program that prepares them to become police officers with Halifax Regional Police. The program will be based at the Halifax Regional Police Training School in Dartmouth, which is a recognized private career college by the Nova Scotia Department of Labour and Advanced Education.
Individuals who are compassionate, committed to contributing to the well-being of the community, and looking for a rewarding career are encouraged to apply
