Update: Three babies in three days!
In the early hours of Wednesday morning, #hfxfirefighters from Station 17 (Cole Harbour) responded to a patient in active labour. By the time our member arrived, mom had already delivered a healthy baby boy.
Our members ensured mom and baby were safe until paramedics arrived.
Three different crews. Three different days. One proud local
- Early Tuesday morning, #hfxfirefighters from Station 23 (Chezzetcook) responded to assist a patient in active labour. When crews arrived, it was clear the birth was imminent. With support from EHS, our members assisted with the safe delivery of a healthy baby boy. Then, this morning, our members from Station 18 (Westphal) were called to another labour emergency. They arrived just after delivery and immediately began post-delivery care to a healthy baby girl until paramedics arrived. No matter the day, or the call — we’re always ready to respond. Pictured below is the Station 23 crew after Tuesday’s delivery. Congratulations to both families — and to all the first responders involved in welcoming two new lives into the world.
