Celebration event in the Cogswell District
After nearly four years of construction, the Cogswell District project is expected to reach substantial completion of construction by the end of the year. To mark this milestone, media are invited to attend a free community celebration.
Location: Granville Park (between the Marriott Harbourfront Hotel and Scotia Square) Date: Saturday, Sept. 20 Time: 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Remarks will be made by The Honourable Mike Savage, ONS, Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia, Mayor Andy Fillmore, Brad Anguish, Acting Chief Administrative Officer and Dr. Ron Milne, grandson of Dr. Alfred Waddell.
Media are invited to attend the event in person. CART, ASL interpretation and livestreaming are not available.
There are a number of private parking lots nearby for ease of parking.

- Live performances by Dee Dee Austin, Blessing Tangban, Owen O’Sound Lee and RS Smooth
- Salsa dance class

About the Cogswell District project
The Cogswell District project is converting 16 acres of road infrastructure into a mixed-use neighbourhood, extending the entrance of the downtown northwards and reuniting communities separated by the interchange lands. The urban street grid is being reinstated and has created development blocks capable of supporting new residential and commercial environments. Dedicated cycling lanes, multi-use paths, new parks and open spaces, and a reimagined transit hub are transforming this former traffic-centric area into a livable, pedestrian-friendly area for people to live, work and play.
