Join us in celebrating 103 years of Gus!
Gus the Gopher Tortoise has called the Museum home for many years. Each August, we celebrate his hatchday (aka birthday). In 2025, we're celebrating his 103rd hatchday!
Party details (updated July 23):
Morning celebrations begin at 10am with crafts, photo opportunities, scavenger hunts, and a special Gus story time at 10:30am.
11am official singing of happy hatchday to Gus and the start of his morning walk!
Cupcakes and lemonade available to visitors after the start of the walk (while supplies last).
Afternoon celebrations begin at 1:30pm with crafts, photo opportunities, scavenger hunts, and a special story time with Gus at 1:30pm.
2pm official singing of happy hatchday to Gus and the start of his afternoon walk!
Cupcakes and lemonade available to visitors after the start of the walk (while supplies last).

This event is included with Museum admission/membership. This summer, the Museum is part of the Canada Strong Pass. Youth 17 years old and younger are free to visit. Young adults 18-24 years old have discounted admission.
