In photos - World Ocean Day events are underway on the Halifax waterfront, featuring a touch tank, activities, and mermaids!
On until 3pm not far from the bendy lights on the Halifax waterfront, people can learn about some of the marine life right here in our harbour!
Different displays talk about the environment and how fragile our oceans are while others focus on ocean life and the conditions they can be found in.
Games make learning about our oceans a blast and mermaids are there to have fun too, including Raina the mermaid (orange)
Ocean's week and Ocean's day take place yearly and focus on how important our aquatic ecosystem is to the overall health of our whole planet.
