NS SPCA Adoptable - Rex
**** Via NS SPCA NS SPCA Adoptable - Rex Meet Rex - A Gentle, Loving Companion Rex has been enjoying his time in a foster home. Rex is a sweet, affectionate boy with a calm and loving nature. He's quiet, non-reactive to barking dogs, and finds comfort in carrying his stuffed toys. While he experiences some separation anxiety, he settles well and is not destructive when left alone-though he might sneak a Kleenex or drink from the toilet if given the chance! Rex loves his daily walks, yard play, and cuddle time. He walks nicely on leash but can pull when excited to meet other dogs. He recently did great on a road trip with other dogs and people, proving to be social and well-mannered. He sleeps independently, enjoys evening play sessions, and responds to commands like sit, shake, and drop it. Rex prefers his food warmed and mixed, enjoys ice cubes, and thrives with routine and gentle guidance. Ideal for a home where he won't be left alone for long, Rex would love a family with older kids or even a dog companion. With consistency, love, and a bit of patience, Rex will be a loyal, snuggly addition to your home. Rex is currently on Apoquel for long-term management of allergies affecting his skin. He also requires Burow's solution ear treatment twice weekly as part of ongoing maintenance for chronic otitis externa. Both medications will need to be obtained through your veterinarian. Additionally, Rex has been diagnosed with mild hip dysplasia. During his veterinary exam, crepitus (a crackling or grating sound) was noted upon range of motion (ROM) testing of both elbows, which may indicate early joint changes. If you are interested in meeting Rex, please fill out the adoption application at the link below: https://www.novascotiaspca.ca/cat-adoption-application/ Staff from the Dartmouth SPCA will be in touch to set up a meeting at their foster home.
