**** Via NS Government United Way Campaign The swims are back! It’s Harbour Swim week, and six communities across Nova Scotia are getting ready to cheer on some pretty incredible swimmers! Whether you’re a longtime supporter or have never been to a Harbour Swim before, come out, bring your friends and family, and make some noise! Every cheer, wave, high-five and enthusiastic “YOU’VE GOT THIS!” helps make these events so special. There’s something happening in Shelburne, Chester, Halifax, Sydney, St. Peter’s and Pictou, so there’s a great opportunity for everyone to join in and show your support. Wednesday, September 9 – Shelburne Waterfront, end of Park Lane Festivities begin at 11:20 a.m. BBQ lunch available for just $7 or $10 Wednesday, September 9 – Chester Municipal Wharf Swim begins at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, September 10 – Halifax Bishop’s Landing Parade of Swimmers begins at 10:30 a.m. 11:15 a.m. BBQ – just $5 for a burger or hot dog, chips and a beverage, with vegetarian and gluten-free options available. There will also be entertainment and a 50/50 draw! Thursday, September 10 – Sydney The Fiddle on the Waterfront Swim begins at 6:30 p.m. Friday, September 11 – St. Peter’s Canal The Locks Swim begins at 8:30 a.m. Friday, September 11 – Pictou Wharf by Vendor’s Village Swim begins at 1:00 p.m. These events are about so much more than swimming. They’re a celebration of teamwork, generosity, community and the incredible spirit of Nova Scotians raising funds for United Way. So grab your cheering voice, bring your people and come help us celebrate our amazing swimmers. Six communities. One incredible cause. And a whole lot of cheering!
