Shoutout - We want to thank all those responsible for the incredible experience during the 20th anniversary of Camp Courage! Mentors and volunteers keep the doors open for the campers who take on the challenge of Camp Courage for the past 20 years, and without a doubt future of this amazing program! Mentors and volunteers are there 100% without pay, taking time out of their own personal life to provide a safe, energetic and life changing experience for the young women of Camp Courage. They bring kindness, support and knowledge in the hopes of showcasing their own experiences within first responding. Many mentors are return mentors, using past experiences to bring them back as they see first hand how they have affected campers in the past and how their positive perspective has guided many campers towards success, one day even working alongside a former camper.  And many mentors themselves are former campers, speaking to classes about their journey up.

"Twenty years ago, Camp Courage began with a dream that one day every young woman who wanted to serve her community would know that she belonged in emergency services. This week, because of each and every one of you, that dream became reality once again.

What an extraordinary nine days.

You didn't just teach skills—you changed lives.

Because of your patience, encouragement, knowledge, kindness, laughter, and unwavering belief in these youth, they leave Camp Courage stronger than when they arrived.

They discovered courage they didn't know they had. They found confidence in their voices.

They stepped outside their comfort zones, faced fears, conquered challenges, built lifelong friendships, and realized they are capable of far more than they ever imagined." - Capt Andrea Speranza

And a big thank you to those behind the scenes who ensure that kit is provide and venues throughout coast guard, paramedic, fire and graduation days are secured and ready for the campers.  Equipment, meals, and everything required for the safety, comfort and operations of the camp. "You didn't simply volunteer.

You built confidence. You inspired courage. You created leaders. You changed lives."

And of course, a huge thank you to HRFE Capt. Andrea Speranza who, because of her determination and dedication, this wonderful experience exists.  She has been dedicating her time and effort in not only growing the camp here in Halifax but far bey, with interest coming from all over not just Canada but overseas. "Be inspired," Andréa Speranza There were so many people involved with the last Camp Courage.  Thank you for your mentorship and volunteering, past and present(to those pictured here and not) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .   -
