In photos - Camp Courage is following the blue line as police day 1 raced on!
From a contraband searxh and use of handcuffs and shackles from the sheriffs to pushing your physical stamina, Camp Courage was an exciting and challenging day.
Campers learned about how DUI enforcement works from a presentation from Kentville Police and a demo from RCMP where they showcased how a traffic stop can lead to a life saving arrest of an impaired driver.
Later, the campers were challenged with DUI simulation goggles and an obstacle course.
Defensive tactics were in full swing as campers learned about baton use, pepperspray (simulation) and taser use (inactive)
A very special moment was shared with current campers as former camper now RCMP Cst Hodder spoke to the class about her journey, from camper to cop, and motivated the class to stay positive and never give up on their dreams!
A test of stamina as the campers took to a PARE course and of course, a great meal from the Salvation Army!
Police Day 2 will have demonstrations from K9 and much more!
