2026 HRM Field Day

2026 HRM Field Day
**** Event Info 2026 HRM Field Day June 27 - 28 from 3pm to 3pm Field Day 2026 – Drop In and See Amateur Radio in Action! For one weekend each year, amateur radio operators across North America head outdoors, set up temporary radio stations, and see how many contacts they can make using portable equipment and emergency-style setups. We’re inviting the community to drop in anytime and see what we’re doing. This is a relaxed, family-friendly event where you can: See portable radio stations in action Watch operators make contacts across Canada and beyond Learn how radio communication works without relying on cell towers or the internet Ask questions and try some hands-on activities Meet local amateur radio operators and community organizations Field Day is also an important emergency communications exercise. Amateur radio operators regularly assist with communications during storms, power outages, and other situations where normal systems may be unavailable. Field Day gives us a chance to practice setting up and operating in temporary locations so we’re better prepared if those skills are ever needed. This year, several community and emergency-service groups will also be on site, making it a great opportunity to learn how different organizations work together during community events and emergencies. Location: Dartmouth High School Date: Saturday June 27 and Sunday June 28 Public visiting hours: Saturday noon until 8pm and Sunday 9am to noon No experience or licence is required to visit. Just stop by, say hello, and discover a hobby that combines technology, problem-solving, public service, and a little bit of magic. We’d love to see you there! 95 Victoria Rd, Dartmouth
