Barbecue season is here. Follow these tips to help prevent fires and injuries
**** Via HRFE Barbecue season is here. Follow these tips to help prevent fires and injuries: • Remove grease and food buildup from grills and drip trays to prevent flare-ups • Keep barbecues at least 1 metre (3 ft) away from siding, deck railings, eaves, overhanging tree branches, children and pets • Use barbecues outdoors only—never in garages, tents or other enclosed spaces • Never leave barbecues unattended • Never use gasoline, lighter fluid or other accelerants to start or relight a charcoal barbecue • Let charcoal ashes cool completely and store them in a metal container with a tight-fitting lid, away from buildings and anything that can burn • Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for your barbecue and propane equipment
