A long way from home! Feathered friend from afar catching attention in HRM

The HRM has been hosting a visitor from afar. Birders and nature lovers have been treated to a visitor not commonly seen this far east.

A townsend solitaire, about the size of a robin but with a slim build, has been popping up in fields in HRM. Quick and able to blend in against certain trees, this bird appears healthy and quite comfortable.

It isn't uncommon for the province to see wildlife from afar. Some come in on weather systems or stowed away on planes or ships. For many who observe these new critters, observing their health and behaviours can be quite fascinating.

Commonly located far, west of here, it is unclear how he made it this far east, but here's hoping for a safe and healthy stay!
