This morning the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada issued a news release related to its investigation into last year's cyber incident at Nova Scotia Power
Please see the following statement from Nova Scotia Power's President & CEO, Vivek Sood.
“We recognize the impact last year’s cyber-attack had on the people who rely on us. We have worked collaboratively with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada throughout its investigation and value its thorough review. Protecting the personal information of our customers and employees is a responsibility we take very seriously. We’ve learned a great deal from this incident and have taken steps to further enhance our cybersecurity and data governance practices to protect against this kind of criminal activity. We are committed to implementing all recommendations to protect our customers and our employees. These include the removal of customer social insurance numbers from our systems and undertaking a full and independent assessment of our enhanced information security safeguards for personal information.”
