**** Via Osprey of Nova Scotia OSPREY FUN FACT FRIDAY Ospreys migrate alone, and without experienced adult birds to follow or the benefit of previous migratory experience, juvenile Ospreys must rely on an inherited programme of direction and distance known as "vector summation" to help them navigate to distant wintering grounds thousands of kilometres away. To make matters even more difficult, they must also learn to catch fish for themselves as they migrate south.
