The brave took on the water today, some new and some veterans, as part of a growing trend said to promote health, such as arthritis relief, mental health and other inflammatory ailments for example, in a safty focused polar dip.
With the mobile spa (provided by Nordic Sauna Rentals) and music, the mood was set for the dipping dippers!
The numbers continue to climb as the popularity of cold dipping combined with the organization and comradeship within the Darkside Dippers continues.
The Darkside Dippers meet every Sunday at Lion’s beach, between Senobe & Banook (close to the boat club) for 11am (new time) and hit the water in shifts!

FEEL GOOD, DO GOOD: Cold Dips for Hot Meals
Hey dippers, we’re back for our second season fundraiser in support of our neighbours @thenorthgrovedartmouth
This incredible organization and community hub is a cornerstone of the Dartmouth north community - providing the important food and family services that help out thousands of community members every year.
Last year, the Darkside Dippers crew completed 385 polar dips and raised over $10,000 to serve 2175 meals for local families.
This season we’d like to give back some more.
Goal: help serve 5000 meals = $25,000 for The North Groves Family Supper Program.
Every $5 = 1 meal.
How To Join:
1️⃣ Set a polar dip goal/challenge (ex. 10 dips before March 29)
2️⃣ Track your dips and reap the benefits of regular cold immersion!
3️⃣ Share with family + friends to sponsor your challenge
Every $50 you raise serves 10 meals for families facing food insecurity
