**** Via Halifax SAR
On Sunday, our team took part in a fantastic multi-agency training day with wilderness validated SAR K9 teams from Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency (CAN TF-5 HUSAR K9) and a RCMP Civilian Ground Search and Rescue dog from Colchester Ground Search and Rescue.
We also had in-training teams from East Hants Ground Search and Rescue, Eastern Shore Ground Search and Rescue, and one of our own dogs.
It was a multi-faceted day: K9 teams trained and sharpened skills, our members supported handlers with navigation during taskings, and Search Management/IT tested a new mapping/tracking app ahead of adopting a new solution in the new year.
Transport brought Rescue 1 to serve as a mobile command post, and we worked in Argo tasking and dog socialization. Our RPAS Committee was also on site, adding a new vantage point for observing the searches.
