As Halifax Water works to restore water service following the water main break in the Waverley Road area on Saturday, Dec. 6, a precautionary boil-water advisory is in effect for some customers until further notice
This advisory impacts customers in the area of Waverley Road, Spider Lake, Montague Road, Keystone Village, Port Wallace, Montebello, Craigwood Estates and Avenue du Portage.
If water service was affected after 1 p.m. on Dec. 6, follow these guidelines: • For customers that lost all water – boil water before use. • For customers with discoloured water – run taps until water is clear, boiling is not required. • For customers with normal or low pressure – no action is needed. • If unsure – boil water as a precaution.
When boiling is required, boil water for one minute before drinking, preparing infant formula, making ice, washing food, cooking, brushing teeth or any other activity involving human consumption.
