RCMP arrests woman for impaired driving in Dartmouth

RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment arrested a woman for impaired driving following a traffic stop in Dartmouth.

On October 20, at approximately 10:45 p.m., an officer travelling northbound on Hwy. 107 observed a Ford Explorer swerving within its lane.

A traffic stop was initiated. The officer spoke with the driver, who exhibited signs of impairment.  A roadside breath sample was obtained, which resulted in a fail.

The driver, a 51-year-old woman from Middle Sackville, was arrested for impaired driving. She was transported to the Cole Harbour RCMP Detachment, where she provided two breath samples that registered 180 mg% each.

The woman was later released and is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date.

Driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs puts everyone on the road at risk. If you believe someone is driving impaired or otherwise an immediate threat to public safety, call 911.
