Speed doesn't pay... at least not the way you think it should.

Two drivers learned that lesson the hard way over the Thanksgiving weekend after being charged with stunting by RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment's Traffic Unit.

24014On October 10, a 35-year-old Bedford man was clocked at 163 km/h in a 100 km/h zone on Hwy. 107 in #EastChezzetcook. He was issued summary offence tickets for stunting ($2,422.50) and no insurance ($1,272.50) and his vehicle and licence were both seized for seven days.

24015On October 11, a 21-year-old Halifax man was stopped after he was observed travelling 173 km/h in a 100 km/h zone on Hwy. 107 in #WestPetpeswick. He was issued a summary offence ticket for stunting ($2,422.50), and his vehicle and licence were also seized for seven days.

The result? Two vehicles parked for a week, two licences off the road, hefty fines, and going nowhere fast.

Remember: speeding might save you a few minutes, but it can cost you a lot more. Slow down, drive responsibly, and help keep Nova Scotia's roads safe for everyone.
